Virtual Eye - June 2013

Virtual Eye Motorsport covered the F1 Grand Prix of Canada and the Grand Prix of Britain this past June, while the Virtual Eye Golf team were busy at the Lyoness Open in Austria, the BMW International Open in Germany and the Irish Open at Carton House GC, Ireland. A lot of our staff were also working hard getting ready for the Louis Vuitton Trophy and America's Cup in San Francisco - this time around Virtual Eye are not only supplying real-time 3D graphics for both broadcast and online - we've also made a sailing simulator, built the official ETNZ mobile app, and developed Augmented Reality kiosks for NZTE and ETNZ. Virtual Eye has staff in San Francisco for the duration of the event(s), keeping our trackers working, operating our 3D viewers, maintaining the simulators and kiosks, and showcasing Virtual Eye graphics aboard the ETNZ spectator boat.

Access All Areas - A Virtual World

One of the events covered by the Virtual Eye Golf team this past month was the Irish Open at Carton House GC, from the 27th to the 30th June. European Tour TV highlighted the team during one of their 'Access All Areas' spots, interviewing Virtual Eye Golf Manager Ben Taylor. Ben explains the process of building a golf course, takes us through operation of our Golf Viewer, and explains the collection of data from spotters on the course back to the broadcast team.
