Virtual Eye - July 2022

Virtual Eye visualized the right point break at Jeffreys Bay in South Africa for the World Surf League Championship Tour, one of seven Tour events held during July. Another 400+ Major League Baseball games were played for the month, including the MLB All-Star Game - where new technology was rolled out to MLB's Statcast 3D system (which Virtual Eye maintains and updates), used extensively by multiple broadcasters throughout July.

Meanwhile our Golf Operations teams delivered our graphics and ball-tracking to several Tours, beginning with the concurrent John Deere Classic in Illinois, The Ascendant in Colorado and the Irish Open at Mount Juliet Estate. These were followed by our simultaneous coverage of the Genesis Scottish Open at the Renaissance Club and the Barbasol Championship in Kentucky, before bringing our graphics to bear upon the 150th Open Championship at St Andrews and the Memorial Health Championship at Panther Creek CC. The next week Virtual Eye Golf covered 5 tournaments at once, the 3M Open in Minnesota, the Price Cutter Championship in Missouri, the Cazoo Classic in England, the Senior Open at Gleneagles and the Evian Championship in France. The Rocket Mortgage Classic in Michigan and the Hero Open at St Andrews saw the month out for Virtual Eye Golf.

Virtual Eye - June 2022

The WSL Championship Tour use Virtual Eye to explain their locations, with the right point break at Punta Roca being new to the Tour this season ( video below ) - the Surf City El Salvador Pro took place over 8 days in mid-June. Major League Baseball played out another 400-plus games this month, with MLB Statcast 3D (which Virtual Eye maintains and updates) used extensively by multiple broadcasters throughout. Virtual Eye was also able to support the 128th Kiel Week remotely this year, the sailing event back up to full strength with 326 races in 22 boat classes over 9 days on 9 courses in Kiel, Germany.

Virtual Eye Golf supports multiple professional Tours with our golf tracking for broadcast and on the web, so we often service concurrent tournaments. The Memorial Tournament on the PGA Tour, The Porsche European Open on the European Tour and the US Women's Open at Pine Needles were the first simultaneous events that used Virtual Eye graphics for June, followed by the RBC Canadian Open and the Scandinavian Mixed as the next pairing. The US Open at The Country Club in Massachusetts was the only singular tournament for our remote operations team this month, as it was followed by the pairing of first The Travelers Championship in Connecticut and the BMW International Open in Munich, then the John Deere Classic in Illinois and the Irish Open in Kilkenny, Ireland.
