Virtual Eye stepped up to the plate during the MLB All-Stars game at Cleveland's Progressive Field, providing graphics that tracked and compared pitches, home runs, and other key elements for client Fox Sports. "We’ve been working with Virtual Eye for a while,'" recounts Brad Cheney, VP, field operations and engineering, Fox Sports. "Obviously, they make phenomenal 3D models of golf courses, so we asked them, ‘Could you do this for baseball?’ And they said, ‘Sure. If we have the data, we could build the model. Then you can pretty much do anything you want.’ The outputs have been pretty stunning so far." quote:sportsvideo.org
Those 'phenomenal 3d models of golf courses' were on display again during July, with Virtual Eye providing tracking and graphics at the 3M Open in Minnesota, the John Deere Classic in Illinois, the FedEx St. Jude Invitational in Tennessee and the 148th Open Championship at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland. On the European Tour, Virtual Eye attended the Irish Open and the Scottish Open. We were also at the Cascais 52 SUPER SERIES Sailing Week providing broadcast graphics, live tracking via 52superseries.com and the Official App of the 52 Super Series. In addition, our visualization team provided client America's Cup with a look forward to the America’s Cup World Series Sardegna in April 2020.
