Virtual Eye - July 2019

Virtual Eye stepped up to the plate during the MLB All-Stars game at Cleveland's Progressive Field, providing graphics that tracked and compared pitches, home runs, and other key elements for client Fox Sports. "We’ve been working with Virtual Eye for a while,'" recounts Brad Cheney, VP, field operations and engineering, Fox Sports. "Obviously, they make phenomenal 3D models of golf courses, so we asked them, ‘Could you do this for baseball?’ And they said, ‘Sure. If we have the data, we could build the model. Then you can pretty much do anything you want.’ The outputs have been pretty stunning so far." quote:sportsvideo.org

Those 'phenomenal 3d models of golf courses' were on display again during July, with Virtual Eye providing tracking and graphics at the 3M Open in Minnesota, the John Deere Classic in Illinois, the FedEx St. Jude Invitational in Tennessee and the 148th Open Championship at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland. On the European Tour, Virtual Eye attended the Irish Open and the Scottish Open. We were also at the Cascais 52 SUPER SERIES Sailing Week providing broadcast graphics, live tracking via 52superseries.com and the Official App of the 52 Super Series. In addition, our visualization team provided client America's Cup with a look forward to the America’s Cup World Series Sardegna in April 2020.

Virtual Eye - June 2019

Virtual Eye Golf attended 7 tournaments during June, supporting both the European and PGA Tours. Starting off already in Dublin for The Memorial Tournament, the next stop for our teams was the RBC Canadian Open in Hamilton, Ontario. The U.S Open at Pebble Beach Golf Links in California saw Virtual Eye adding new developments to our graphics package: a gyrostabilized gimbal platform providing new angles for shot tracking, realtime AR graphics over live shots without the need for calibration, and automated golf-hole maps. The BMW International in Germany, The Andalucia Masters in Spain, The Travelers Championship in Connecticut and the Rocket Mortgage Classic in Detroit rounded off a stellar month for Virtual Eye Golf.

The Puerto Sherry 52 SUPER SERIES Royal Cup in Cadiz was the first event of the month for Virtual Eye Sailing, our work including broadcast graphics, live tracking at 52superseries.com and also the Official App of the 52 Super Series. The Sailing team then brought our graphical tracking technology to Kiel Week 2019 in Germany. Kiel Week is a major event on the international sailing calendar, with 4,000 sailors from 60 nations competing in more than 1,900 sailing boats.
