During the March Spring Training schedule, Virtual Eye rolled out more updates and additions to Major League Baseball's StatCast 3D product, in time for Opening Day and the return of a full 162 game Season in 2021. Our Golf Operations Team continued supporting both the PGA and European Tour, supplying our tracking and graphics to the Arnold Palmer Invitational, the Players Championship, the Qatar Masters, the Honda Classic and the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play. Graphics for the concurrent Players Championship and Qatar Masters were both delivered remotely from our Remote Operations Suite in Dunedin, New Zealand.
Virtual Eye Sailing had set up shop in Auckland for the PRADA ACWS and PRADA Christmas Cup in December 2020, followed by the PRADA Cup in January and February 2021 - all culminating in March for the 36th America's Cup between Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team and defender Emirates Team New Zealand, with New Zealand retaining the Auld Mug in a first-to-seven series. Virtual Eye graphics featured throughout coverage of the event(s) on broadcast TV,
Web Livestream and
3D WebGL player.

In December, Virtual Eye fielded multiple teams to cover not only the third ODI, three T20 matches and the first two Tests between India and hosts Australia - but also four Big Bash League (BBL) matches in Canberra, Brisbane and on the Gold Coast. Our Golf Remote Ops team worked the early morning shifts here in New Zealand, bringing our tracking and graphics to bear on the PGA Tour's QBE Shark Shootout, plus the Dubai Championship and DP World Tour Championship on the European Tour.
Virtual Eye sports coverage was born at the America's Cup in 1992, so the event holds a special place on our calendar. Our Sailing Ops team unpacked a full bag of tricks for both broadcast and streaming coverage at the PRADA Christmas Cup in Auckland - a first stretch of the foils for the teams, and an awesome spectacle to end the year with.
In January, one Virtual Eye team covered the third and fourth Tests between Australia and India, while another supplied our graphics to twelve BBL matches in Brisbane, Hobart, Perth, Adelaide, Canberra, Melbourne and on the Gold Coast. Golf Remote Ops were on night-shift delivering graphics to the Sentry Tournament, the Sony Open, The American Express and the Farmer Insurance Open for the PGA Tour, with the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship and the Omega Dubai Desert Classic for the European Tour ending another busy Golf month.
Virtual Eye was again a feature of both broadcast and online coverage for the PRADA Cup, which took place over January and February, while back at the office we kicked into gear preparing software, assets and operators for the 2021 Major League Baseball Spring Training in late February. At the same time, Virtual Eye Golf were remotely supporting events on the PGA Tour and European Tour in the early hours, being the Waste Management Phoenix Open, the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, the Genesis Invitational, the WGC-Workday Championship and the Saudi International. 2021 looks like a busy one :)
