Virtual Eye - November 2020

Virtual Eye crossed the Tasman to support another Summer of Cricket, operating out of a secure Sydney hub for broadcaster Fox Sports. The first two One Day Internationals between Australia and India took place on the 27th and 29th at the Sydney Cricket Ground, with Virtual Eye providing tracking, analysis and graphics. We've also been developing a visual based player tracking system that uses a neural network to detect and track player movements. We call the final output of that system the 'Hyper Field' in our Cricket Display application.

Virtual Eye Golf Remote Operations supported the Houston Open and the RSM Classic at Sea Island on the PGA Tour, and the Cyprus Showdown on the European Tour this past month. We have also been testing our technology for the PRADA America’s Cup World Series Auckland and the PRADA Christmas Race, before the PRADA Cup in January and February 2021 leading up to the 36th America's Cup.

Virtual Eye - October 2020

Virtual Eye have covered the America's Cup since 1992, and are again providing our tracking and graphics to the 36th America's Cup in 2021. The Event Official Website will provide all the live content including on board camera footage, Virtual Eye graphics, behind-the-scenes storytelling and more.

Our parent company Animation Research Ltd recently received a 2020 AmCham - DHL Express Success and Resilience Innovation Award for Virtual Eye's work (during the COVID19 pandemic) building a new platform to continue covering PGA Tour Golf from our offices in Dunedin and also support Major League Baseball with the aid of state-side staff, successfully pivoting how we deliver our our services between the USA and New Zealand.

Virtual Eye Golf continued our support of both the European Tour and PGA Tour Golf in October, with concurrent tournaments again bookmarking the month. The Scottish Open at Renaissance Club and Sanderson Farms Champs in Mississippi were the first pairing of events, followed by the trio of the BMW Champs at Wentworth, the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open at TPC Summerlin and the Women’s PGA Champs at Aronimink Golf Club, Pennsylvania. The next simultaneous tournaments were the Scottish Championship at St. Andrews and the CJ Cup at Shadow Creek, followed by the final duo of the Italian Open at Chervò Golf Club and the Zozo Championship at Sherwood CC, with the Cyprus Open at Aphrodite Hills seeing off the month.
