Virtual Eye - July 2021

In July, the Major League Baseball calendar included the All Star Game and Home Run Derby, a good time for Virtual Eye to add Augmented Reality overlay support into MLB's StatCast 3D product. MLB's StatCast 3D is used by MLB Network and other major broadcasters to enhance their game coverage.

Our Virtual Eye Golf remote operations teams were again covering concurrent events, beginning on the first of the month with the Rocket Mortgage Classic on the PGA Tour and the Irish Open on the European Tour. The next two tournaments were the John Deere Classic and the Scottish Open, before our annual coverage of The Open Championship at Royal St. Georges. The week after The Open provided our teams with the challenge of providing graphics for four simultaneous events - the 3M Open on the PGA Tour, the Cazoo Wales Open at Celtic Manor, the Senior Open at Sunningdale GC and the Evian Championship on the LPGA Tour and Ladies European Tour. The ISPS Handa World Invitational capped off July for Virtual Eye Golf.

PGA TOUR TOURCast runs on the web and on multiple devices, tracking the action of golf players playing on the PGA Tour in real-time on an interactive 3D model, that also features Tee shot shapes using TrackMan radar and SHOTLink (powered by CDW) shot trails.

Virtual Eye - June 2021

Congratulations to MLB Network, who were awarded the George Wensel Technical Achievement Award at the 42nd Sports Emmy's for StatCast 3D. Virtual Eye supplies data-driven graphics functionality and virtual stadiums to Major League Baseball's StatCast 3D product.

Virtual Eye Golf continued their work on the PGA and European Tours from our Remote Operations Suite(s) in New Zealand, starting with the simultaneous Memorial Tournament on the PGA Tour and the Porche European Open in Germany. The next concurrent events were the Palmetto Championship in South Carolina and the Scandinavian Mixed in Sweden, followed by the U.S. Open at Torrey Pines GC. The month concluded with the Travelers Championship on the PGA Tour, the BMW International Open in Munich and the Women's PGA Championship in Georgia.

Virtual Eye Sailing was on deck supplying our tracking and graphics to the inaugural edition of 'The Ocean Race Europe' from Lorient to Genova, with stops in Cascais and Alicante along the way.
